Northampton Guardians
On January 30th, 2016 India Chipchase and her friends went out together in Northampton Town Centre. During the course of the evening India and her friends became separated resulting in India being left alone and vulnerable outside of a venue in town. Events that happened after India was separated from her friends, unfortunately lead to her tragic rape and murder.
The Northampton Guardians were originally created by India’s mother, Sue Chipchase, in her memory.
In 2021 with a new leadership team and a group of dedicated volunteers, along with the additional support from the Northamptonshire OPFCC providing the SNO Van, the Northampton Guardians launched and have been in town every weekend since.The Northants OPFCC funded the Safer Nights out van from which the Northampton Guardians operate, it is a safe space within the town for anyone to come to for help and support.
Our 2026 Ladies Night, helped the Lodge raise £2300 for The Northampton Guardians.
THANK YOU!!!! The Free Masons in Buckinghamshire have recently raised funds for us, and we are truly grateful.....any support allows us to continue to safeguard all those out in the town on Fridays and Saturdays....Nathan Jones as worshipful master for the Grand Union Free Masonry lodge and his wife Charlotte, chose Northampton Guardians as the beneficiary of their fundraising event which was held at the Villiers Ballroom in Buckinghamshire. On the night they raised £2,300 and are grateful for the generous donations to the raffle prizes from local businesses including Northampton Saints and Northampton County Cricket Club. Charlotte and Nathan said "having watched the charity from afar we have always wanted to support them in some way, so we are thrilled we have been able to do this now. Having spent some time with the volunteers, who are truly inspiring, we have seen how vital the charity is to the town centre economy and keeping vulnerable people safe" - Northampton Guardians, Facebook Post
