Fifteen riders, 4 ladies and 11 men, under the leadership of Decca Triathlon World Champion 2013 Simon Bourne, were assembled to undertake this challenge. For a year prior to the event each rider was involved in a serious training programme to insure that their fitness would be of a level to carry them through the ride to final destination at Adams Park, High Wycombe for the Homecoming. Simon Bourne was later to be initiated into Royal Clarence Lodge 1823 in the Province of Suffolk.

The Support team consisted of 6 motor bikers, serving and ex-service personnel under the leadership of Captain Bill ‘Dutch’ Holland, who was later to be Initiated into de Bohun Lodge 8175, along with VW Bro Mike Stimson Deputy Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro Ron King, W.Bro Vincent Lieu all of  Longueville Lodge 9322 and W.Bro John Power of Grand Union Lodge. Mike’s wife Shirley and ex Army cook Sgt. Christine Green ,were a very important part of the team who worked tirelessly to keep the cyclists and bikers well fed thought the 14 day journey.
